Up-sale Items in Event Registrations

We are using version EE3.

We have a client that would like to have a “Child’s Meal” option added to their registration form. We don’t want this additional expense to be a full on extra attendee ticket, it’s not something we need the child’s name, email address, etc. for.

Example:
* Attendee Ticket $100
add a child’s meal to your ticket for an additional $20

Any suggestions would be most welcomed. We had more than 1000 attendees last year and this would simplify the registration process tremendously if we could do this. Also, I can imagine so many uses for this functionality aside from my case study example given here.

Thanks!

Hi there,

I can recommend checking out the Price Modifier add-on that works with Event Espresso 3.

This would work great if I wasn’t using the Multiple Event Registration add-on…

“The Espresso Price Modifier Add-on is not compatible with the Multiple Event Registration Add-on.”

We have so many ticket types, we are using that add-on to create a shopping cart approach.

Any other suggestions?

(and thank you very much Josh for your suggestion!)

It might be possible to make the Price modifier add-on work alongside Multi Event Registration. Do you have a PHP developer on your team?

Do you know what the conflicts are between the two Add-ons?

If I recall correctly, the price modifier add-on was built as a one-off solution for a specific client that did not have any use for the Multi Event Registration add-on. The code got donated to Event Espresso, and we made it into a plugin and made it available as a free download. It was never intended to be used with Multi Event Registration, so it wasn’t developed or tested to run with it.

If I recall correctly, the issue that happens is the function that’s used by Multi Event Registration to calculate the total that’s passed to the Thank You page doesn’t account for the price modifiers. A PHP developer could tweak the code that sends the price to the Thank You page so that it factors in the price modifier add-on.
