Unpaid Registrations Auto Deleted after 1 week.

Hello.

We are having a problem with our unpaid registrations being automatically deleted from the system after about a week. A registrant fills in all the information, but does not complete the Paypal payment. Previously, we have left these on the system to hold their spot and either manually entered their payment (cash, cheque or whatever) or deleted them from the system. But now it’s just nowhere to be found, even when we search for it. The next problem is that even though the registration has vanished, it still takes up a space in the attendees limit, so even if they are not registered, the space is taken and we can’t adjust this. So we have had to adjust the attendee limit to allow more registrations. Please advise. Thanks!

Hi there,

Within your event what is the Default Registration Status? – http://take.ms/UGECC

If you go to Event Espresso -> Events.

Hover over the event name and click the ‘Registrations’ link that appears – http://take.ms/wEom1

Now within the registration list you’ll see multiple ‘views’ at the top – http://take.ms/JF6bn

Can you double check that the registrations are not displayed there please.

The default registration status is set to “Approved” in the side bar, though when I go through the tabs at the top, the “Default Settings” is set to “Pending Payment”, which I have changed.

I went through the different views of the registrations, and these do not appear there. They do not come up when we search for them either. We have worked around the problem by attaching a $5.00 payment to the registrations we want to hold, but anything vanishing permanently is really worrisome.

Thanks,
Holly

Hi Holly,

Setting the Default Registration Status to Approved for event means that every registration made on your site will automatically apply to the sold values, regardless of payment, is that expected?

I went through the different views of the registrations, and these do not appear there. They do not come up when we search for them either. We have worked around the problem by attaching a $5.00 payment to the registrations we want to hold, but anything vanishing permanently is really worrisome.

So its only when a user selects PayPal but then closes the browser and never returns to the site?

Does this happen for every user that does this?

I’ve just place a test registration (under my name) onto one of your events, can you monitor that registration (please don’t apply a payment to it) and see if it is deleted when the session expires (60mins from now)

Yes, we still want to see the unpaid registrations, as sometimes people still want the class, but don’t want to use Paypal, so we follow up with them in other ways.

So its only when a user selects PayPal but then closes the browser and never returns to the site?

Yes, only when they do not complete the payment through Paypal. Those registrations are there for about a week, and then disappear, it’s happened with 2 users, and we entered a test, and it also disappeared.

Your test is still there. We are monitoring it. If it disappears, it usually takes about a week.

Thanks,
Holly

Hi Holly,

Registrations with information associated regardless of the payment status should not be deleted.

The steps that you described is someone abandoning their purchase and not paying (e.g. they change their mind). You should still see them appear as abandoned under the transactions overview screen.

Here is an example of how that may appear:

Hi, The missing “transactions” are not there either. They also do not show up when we search for them. Anywhere.

I am watching Tony Warwick’s registration to see if it disappears after a week, and I will report back. We are pretty concerned about losing information right now.

Thanks,
Holly

Whats the status for both my registration and transaction currently?

It should be Pending Payment/Incomplete (REG/TXN) like this – http://take.ms/9ugIp

That from within Event Espresso -> Registrations.

It’s “Approved” and “Incomplete”, as I changed the settings to approve all registrations, regardless of payment.

Hi Holly,

Could you backup your WordPress site and update to the current version of Event Espresso 4?

You can see the change log since your version here:
