Unable to view Attendee list on mobile app

Hi, I have the mobile app working fine my Android phone, as does another member of my team, but two others are having problems when they try to view the attendee list:
“Error Occurred
The request was a valid request, but the server is refusing to respond to it. Unlike a 401 Unauthorized response, authenticating will make no difference. On servers where authentication is required, this commonly means that the provided credentials were successfully authenticated but that the credentials still do not grant the client permission to access the resource (e.g., a recognized user attempting to access restricted content).”

One person is using an iPhone, the other Android, both are logging on as Admin level users. In fact the same user account worked find for the second team member who isn’t having problems (though it caused this problem when another team member was the only person using that account at the time).

Thanks for any assistance

I made both team members their own admin user, so that no one is signing in with the same user account, and they’re both still having the same problem.

You’ll need to make sure that the other accounts have the following capabilities:

ee_read_registrations
ee_read_others_registrations

You can use a plugin like Members to set the user account capabilities.

Along with that, if your server uses fcgi the authentication headers will not get passed to the server. A stop gap fix for the authentication headers issue with fcgi servers is posted in this other thread:

We’re using nginx and haven’t implemented htaccess, is there a way of doing what we need to with nginx rewrites?

Can you verify that you have Fast-cgi set up behind nginx?

Yes we do

As far as I know there isn’t a way to authenticate the mobile apps if the server uses fastcgi and doesn’t use .htaccess.

They will work on adding a different method of authentication for the apps and when it’s ready we’ll update this post.
