I can create new pages fine, but I you load an existing page from the Pages list and edit it, the content disappears when I click Update.

Hi there,

To clarify, you mean normal WP pages, in Dashboard -> Pages?

If so Event Espresso (EE) shouldn’t load on those pages so this is unlikely to be caused by EE.

If you open up Chrome Dev Tool when you edit a page and look i the ‘console’ do you see any errors?

One troubleshooting step that will help narrow down the cause is to use the WordPress Health Check plugin to rule out a plugin conflict. Here’s how to do that:

You install the Health Check plugin, then go to WP → Dashboard → Heath Check → Troubleshooting. There you’ll Enable Troubleshooting Mode, then once that’s activated, test an update to a page and see if the issue persists.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply. I’ve started from scratch and installed WP and everything is fine until I install EE.

Once I do so, I can no longer update any text in the WP editor. I type in and hit the publish button and it just disappears. All widgets etc seem to be working fine, this only seems to be affecting text entered in to the editor.

Thanks for your time.

Hi,

May I ask which version of WordPress and which version of Event Espresso?

Also, are there any other plugins activated on the website?

OK.

Tony asked, and we’re still wondering, are you not able to edit WordPress Pages, or Event Espresso events, or both?

Also, have you tried the Health Check plugin? The reason we recommend the Health Check plugin is because you can rule out a plugin conflict or even a theme conflict.

Hi,

The problem is with WP pages, I first noticed it when I attempted to embed the tickets info from EE in to my Tickets page.

Tried the Health Check plugin and had no joy with it.

What you can do instead of using the Health Check plugin is:

deactivate all plugins other than Event Espresso
switch the theme to one of the default themes (twentyseventeen theme)

Also, since you mentioned embedding ticket information, I can advise to instead use the Ticket Selector shortcode instead. The embed is a iframe and is only intended to be used off-site.

OK, done that and it works. The theme I’m using is Fudge 2.0 from Showthemes, I’m assuming the theme is the issue.

That could be. It may help to make sure you have the current version of the theme, and contact Showthemes for support.

Don’t hate me, but I’ve found what I’m doing wrong. Rather than use the WP editor I have to use the widgets provided to drop the shortcode in>

Thank you very much for your time.
