Greetings,

Guests are receiving an error “Unable to save registration form data for the form input” when attempting to edit their Attendee Information when using the URL /thank-you/?e_reg_url_link=1-xxxxxxxxxxxxx (substituting xxxxxxxx with their Line Item ID from their registration)

For example (on cloned development site that I use for testing):

1) http://beta.lindyvice.com/thank-you/?e_reg_url_link=1-27b6c72c6074b0c04b68fe84df91c597

2) ‘Click here to edit Attendee Information’

3) change any field and then choose ‘Update Registration Details’

4) the error code is given (see screenshot https://www.dropbox.com/s/4zxfea173irueg5/Registration%20Checkout%20-%20Lindy%20Vice.png)

Notes: the error is only given for registrations with ‘Approved’ status.

Can you shed some light into this error?

My system details:
– WordPress v3.9
– Event Espresso 4.2.3.reg
– No extra EE add-ons installed
– Registration page link (live site): http://beta.lindyvice.com/events/mooche-2014/

Hello,

Please backup and update to the current version of Event Espresso 4. If the issue continues, then it could be caused by another plugin such as Simple Custom CSS.

I would also try temporarily deactivating all plugins and reactivating only Event Espresso. If this fixes the issue, then reactivate your plugins one by one to locate the source of the conflict.

Hi Lorenzo,

Thanks for your speedy response.

Please backup and update to the current version of Event Espresso 4

Done.

I would also try temporarily deactivating all plugins and reactivating only Event Espresso.

Done.

The error still persists for guests with ‘REG STATUS = Approved’.

Is it because ‘Approved’ registrations are locked?

Are you able to update this field for any other registrations:

Interesting- I am able to successfully edit the details of the most recent 3 entries with ‘Approved’ status WITHOUT receiving the error:

http://beta.lindyvice.com/thank-you/?e_reg_url_link=1-f02ea573e910aba7ccdc00f56f420894
http://beta.lindyvice.com/thank-you/?e_reg_url_link=1-9fd3f116b35aace33ac51cac530dec80
http://beta.lindyvice.com/thank-you/?e_reg_url_link=1-431c33ff3dee79eaadb1c6bb2ce3e733

The ‘Comments’ question field, which you provided screenshot for in your last post, was only recently added to the questions groups. Do you think that the older entries can’t be edited because they were not originally submitted with the ‘comments’ field?

Hello,

I did some testing and it looks like it fails to update when using the edit attendee registration page on the front end.

However, updating through the registration details in the WordPress admin works. Also if you update through the Wp-admin –> Event Espresso–> Registrations –> Registration details screen, then you can make additional edits using the edit attendee registration page on the front end.

I’ve created a report for the development team to review. Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

Hi,

We have a fix available. Before making any changes, please do backup your WordPress.

Here is the patched file:

http://cl.ly/code/1t0U411k2z2R

Again be sure to Backup your WordPress. Then deactivate Event Espresso through WordPress Plugins.

Login to your WordPress site with an SFTP or FTP client and go to the WordPress root.

Then browse to the WordPress plugins folder.

Locate the Event Espresso folder and open it.

Then browse to this location:

modules/single_page_checkout/EED_Single_Page_Checkout.module.php

Rename to existing file to EED_Single_Page_Checkout.module.php.old. Then upload the new file.

Return to your WordPress admin and reactivate Event Espresso. From here, you can re-test editing registrations.

Let us know if this helps!

Hi Lorenzo,

The patched file fixed the issue.

I followed the steps exactly as you described, and it worked. I have tested a few registrations and all of them updated on the frontend without any error.

Here is an example registration on my testing site http://beta.lindyvice.com/thank-you/?e_reg_url_link=1-cebdf97b01f45cb05d0a3f42fbdf9708

Thanks,
Andrew
