Hi,

Went to make an edit to an event and found everything (boxes, event date options etc) missing, the page online for my site is all still there but I am unable to edit anything as it is not there in the edit menu to edit. This has occurred with all my events in ‘edit event’ tab as well as with any new event I want to create. How can I make it all reappear to edit things????

This is what I see in my edit event tab now.

Please Help!

Hi Rachel,

The image that you shared does not appear to be from the event editor in Event Espresso –> Events.

Have you recently installed any new plugins? If so, could you try temporarily deactivating them to see if that restores the event editor for Event Espresso?

Hi Rachel,

If you enable WP_DEBUG and revisit the page do you see any fatal errors from Event Espresso?

You need to edit the wp-config.php file within the root directory of you site and add:

define( 'WP_DEBUG', true );

Do you have FTP access to the site?

okay thanks, I have changed the true, on my site the following notice has appeared, where should I be looking for errors relating to the inability to edit events?

thanks again for walking me through this one, I have absolute no idea and the crowd that initially made my site are no help at all.

okay thanks, I have changed the true, on my site the following notice has appeared,

That’s most likely an issue with the theme but it could also be a plugin, something is creating a plugin in the ‘old’ way and needs to be updated.

where should I be looking for errors relating to the inability to edit events?

Just visit the Event Editor and see if any errors are shown one that page.

thanks again for walking me through this one, I have absolute no idea and the crowd that initially made my site are no help at all.

No problem at all πŸ™‚

Hi,

On this comment (https://eventespresso.com/topic/unable-to-edit-single-event-content-missing-from-edit-screen/#post-193986), I’m unable to determine if you temporarily tested with only Event Espresso 4 running.

If you are short on time, then I would try to identify the plugin that is displaying the content that does not belong there or any recently added plugins.

You could then reverse your steps by reactivating a couple plugins at a time and re-testing to pinpoint the source of the conflict.

thanks again for all your help, it was the Event Espresso – MailChimp (EE4.4.5+) plugin causing the problem and others.

Hi Rachel,

In that case it sounds like the MailChimp add-on may have been throwing a fatal error.

Do you not need the MailChimp functionality within your events?

We can help track down the cause of the error so that the MailChimp add-on can be used once again.
