Unable to add field to registration form

I came across an issue today when trying to add a field to the registration form. if I had special characters in the ‘question text’ or ‘required text’ fields it threw an error.

An EE_Error exception was thrown! code: EEM_Base – _do_wpdb_query – 1782
“WPDB Error occurred, but no error message was logged by wpdb! The wpdb method called was “insert” and the arguments were ….(cut array details to make this easier).

What I found was I could remove the special characters from the fields and it would save successfully, and then from there I could edit the fields and place the special characters back in and it would save successfully.

Not sure if this is known but thought this may help someone else in the future.

Hello, could you please let us know the version of Event Espresso 4 that you are using? This can be found in WP-admin –> Plugins.

Next, could you share an example of the information that you were entering for both text fields so we can run some testing on our end?
