Two registration confirmation emails sending

Hi
In my testing, where I do fake registrations and put myself as the attendee, I’m receiving two confirmation registration emails.

It doesn’t happen when I do multiple attendees with different email addresses. But with the single-person registration, I receive two emails at the same time to the same address.

I wonder if this is because the system decides I’m both Primary Registrant and Recipient, so it sends me both emails. Not ideal.

Thoughts?

I’ve tried this several ways (through Paypal and also by manually adding a payment that’s come through the bank account) so I know it’s not the payment processor.

To clarify, the registration confirmation email is sent to two people (besides the admin one): the [PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_EMAIL] and the [RECIPIENT_EMAIL]. This is great when there are several attendees because it ensures that everyone gets the confirmation.

But when there’s only one attendee, I don’t know if it’s being intuitive and only sending the Primary Registrant one. I wonder if it’s also sending second one to the same address.

I hope this gets sorted very soon. I’ve started collecting registrations now and working overtime to fix all the bugs in the system as they arise.

Thanks!

Hi Kylee,

A primary registrant is also a registrant so as you have enabled bother the Registrant and Primary Registrant message contexts that attendee will receive both emails.

Enabling the Primary Registrant email allows for you to send additional information to only that registrant but will also send the registrant email.

Are you sending additional information to only the Primary registrant through that message type currently? If not you can disable the primary registrant context and use the registrant for all of the messages.

That’s great, now I see the logic of having the first email. Ok, so how do I disable the Primary registrant email? Just remove the address in the To field?

Just remove the address in the To field?

Yeah, that’s correct.

Leaving the TO field within any message context will disable that context and no longer send.
