Hi there,

Since turning it off, some of our existing customers have had problems purchasing event tickets – for eg, one of them was taken to a strange profile page they hadn’t see before.

As far as I am aware we don’t like to a profile page so we’d need more details on where the user was sent to try and track this down further, do you have any info on the page they were directed to?

Another registered with her usual email address and the following error message appeared:
“You have entered an email address that matches an existing user account in our system. If this is your email address, please log in before continuing your registration. Otherwise, register with a different email address.”

You can disable the user traffic cop feature by adding the following code to your site:

You can add the above to a functions plugin or into your WordPress theme’s functions.php file.

As your not requiring users to log in, you’ll need the second function to disable the feature for all.

Note that you’ll also want the ‘Always sync contact information with WP user profile?’ within Event Espresso -> Registration Form -> User Integration Settings set to No as now users could be logged in and using another users details, with that setting you’ll end up with 2 WP users with the same First Name, Last Name and Email address.
