I read a lot on your forums, tried all sorts of different naming of lang files. There is a lot of posts complaining about the translation of the plugin.
Some strings are translated in the po and mo files of the uploads folder – but they still are not translated on the frontend. here are some strings i found that should be translated (to norwegian).

why are not the po and mo of the upload folder loading?

Hi there,

I read a lot on your forums, tried all sorts of different naming of lang files.

What filename are you using currently? Either event_espresso-{locale}.mo or event-espresso-4-{locale}.mo will work.

There is a lot of posts complaining about the translation of the plugin.

The majority of issues from translations are caused by incorrect filenames above.

Some strings are translated in the po and mo files of the uploads folder – but they still are not translated on the frontend. here are some strings i found that should be translated (to norwegian).

Did you post the strings as I can’t see any in your reply, I can investigate further once I know which strings are causing issues for you.

Hi,

I’ll add that the Event Espresso Norwegian translation file is from the Bokmål dialect. If the site’s Site Language option is set to Norsk nynorsk (nn_NO) then the translation file for Event Espresso will not load.

Hi, we finally figured it out, having a multisite the translation files must be uploaded to folder: uploads/sites/[ID]/espresso/languages
Think you should update your translations guides to include this information even though you “do not support multisites”
