Time Zone Problem

All of my events are showing the wrong time on my website. For example, if I edit an event to begin at 6pm, it will show on my site and the email confirmation as 1pm.

My WP admin Settings -> General has the timezone set correctly to my location (Chicago) and displays UTC and local time correctly.

Thanks!

Hi there,

This is usually caused by another plugin resetting the timezone. Usually it’s another calendar plugin, but it could be any plugin that uses the
date_default_timezone_set() function. So the first step to fix this is find the offending plugin. Once you find it, you send the plugin author this link:

I also use The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar PRO from Modern Tribe. Is this known to be an issue?

I like Events Calendar as it gives a great layout of the calendar of events, then I link to EE4 for the actual registration of events.

I double checked and neither The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar PRO from Modern Tribe use date_default_timezone_set().

This means it’s likely another plugin or even possibly the active WordPress theme that’s using date_default_timezone_set().
