I’m on WordPress 4.0.2, EE3 (3.1.36.6.P) New installation.

Simply put, I have events listed, but they’re not showing up in the Ticketing Apple iPhone App. Any ideas?

Hi Jeff,

Are you running the HD version of the app? Can you tell me the version number please?

When you log into the app if you pull down on the event list it will force the app to refresh the list, can you try this and confirm the events still do not appear on the list.

Wasn’t running the HD version. Downloaded the HD version, put the URL in (it is a cpanel url (no domain) so http://123.456.789.012/~ast/ but the app now says 404 error, nothing found. Same URL works fine on the non HD app.

Hi,

That URL doesn’t work when I click on it. Could you double-check the URL?

Also, be careful of extra spacing before or after the credentials:

I can put any URL in it (to other WP installs that doesn’t even have EE plugin) and they all say “Sorry, can’t log in 404 – not found”

Any ideas?

Hi Jeff,

Do you have the JSON API Addon installed?

The non HD version of the app used ‘espresso-services’ to connect to the APP, the new version uses the JSON API.

After installing that Add-on, can you enable ‘Pretty’ permalinks on your site and re-test please.

For example, just try Post Name – http://take.ms/9pucF

I did that, and used the URL for 1 of 2 events, now I’m getting a Cocoa 3840 error.

The URL for 1 of the 2 events?

Is this when logging into the app? The URL when loggin into the should be where your WordPress files are located, generally (and on your site) that would be the root directory.

So set the URL to the address you provided previously and log in using the account details for that site, you should then see your Event List.

Hi, my interpretation of this comment that you are using the URL for an event when trying to login:

I did that, and used the URL for 1 of 2 events, now I’m getting a Cocoa 3840 error.

Could you clarify?

The login URL should just be the WordPress Site URL. For example, if your site was example.com, then the login URL should be:

http://example.com

Lorenzo, that is correct – i turned on the permalinks for the site.

The site is not live yet, so it doesn’t have an actual domain name yet, but it will. Hence the IP address.

Hi Jeff,

Cocoa error 3840 is a JSON parsing error, which can happen if there’s any kind of PHP error happening while the app tries to connect to your site. Can you try temporarily deactivating all the plugins on the site except for these two plugins:

Event Espresso
Espresso JSON API

Along with that, can you go into the Espresso JSON API settings and change the setting there to “Allow Public API Access”?

This will help us rule out what could be causing the events not to show.
