There MUST be a way! EE4 with my current Theme.

I love my current WordPress theme but was told by a local developer that he didn’t think it would be compatible with EE4. How can I be sure of this?

I had to open up a sub domain for my EE events & classes. Is there a way for me to use a bit of code perhaps to display this event template on my original site even though EE is not downloaded on that site? My thoughts are to have it display there but when an event is clicked on it would take them to all the details on my sub domain where EE4 is installed.

I’m trying to find a way to have either the Event Table template or the calendar display on my regular website in a widget or in an html box.

Please let me know if you can think of any possibilities! I use a Nexus theme called Summer Camps: http://nexusthemes.com/wordpress-themes/tourism/summer-camp-wordpress-theme/
Thanks-T

Hi Tamara,

I wonder why the local developer thinks this theme can’t be used with Event Espresso 4? You can find out for sure by installing the theme and Event Espresso 4 on a test site and testing it out.

Ok- and is it currently possible to post the Event Table Template on a site without EE installed?

In order to use the Table template you will need events created through EE, so no that’s not possible.

Personally, I would create a new site locally, install your sites theme on that site, then Event Espresso and the Event Table Template. Then create some test events and see how the theme displays those events.

Event Espresso is generally compatible with themes that follow the WP Standards, however theme developers (and plugins developers for that matter) add some weird and wonderful code that can causes problems, so we can not say 100% without trying EE on the theme.

Its also possible to create a child theme and specifically style EE’s pages using that, although this gets a little more complicated and would likely need the help of a developer to help get up and running, but again, this all depends on what happens with the theme as is.

Thanks Tony. Is there a price list somewhere for how much your developers charge to install EE4?

Hi, we have an install service here:

https://eventespresso.com/product/basic-install-with-configuration/

Note: this does not include any custom coding for your project.

In a basic install service, we will setup Event Espresso and activate any add-ons. Then we will go through a free registration and a paid registration using a payment gateway to ensure that Event Espresso is working correctly.
