Hi,

We’re not doing any payment processing with Event Espresso, so I dragged all payment related Messages over to the “Inactive Message Types” box to deactivate them – then this Red error popped up:

There are no Active Payment Methods setup for Event Espresso. Please activate at least one.

Will this create any problems?

Hi there,

Do your events have free or paid tickets?

You may not be processing the payments through EE but you’ll need a payment method (such as invoice) active if your tickets have a price associated with them so that the registration can be finalized.

If you can explain further how you are wanting this to work we may be able to provide other options.

Hi Tony,

Tickets are only available to site members and they are free for site members. Im using membership plugin to restrict access to events pages and ticket registrations. The plugin is doing a good job at locking away events from non-members.

To get access to the events pages and ticket registration, a user has to buy a membership, and this is all handled way before Event Espresso comes in to play.

So when they come to register tickets there is no payments, invoices, or receipts involved. Theres no price for tickets. Once a user is a member and logged-in they can get tickets for free.

This is why I deactivated all payment related Messages, which is when EE4 started showing the Red Error above.

Let me know how to make it go away, and if this can cause any problems.

Thanks.

Currently to remove the message you’ll need to enable at least 1 payment method within Event Espresso -> Payment Methods. Because your events are free whichever payment method you enable will not be displayed.

The reason disabling the messages threw this notice is because disabling the invoice and receipt messages within the HTML section of messages (http://take.ms/Z4FNG) also disabled the Invoice Payment method.

I’m guessing you removed those to stop them being displayed on the Thank you page? in which case I would recommend enabling the Bank or Check payment method.

That should remove the notice and have no effect on your registrations.
