First stage; ‘Select New Event’, returns “The results could not be loaded”

Using Event Espresso 4.9.25, the same occured with WordPress 4.7 and the new update 4.7.1

There are no other plugins in use other than those from Event Espresso

Is WP_DEBUG set to true or false in the wp-config.php file?

It’s set to false

There’s also no additional security or caching plugins installed, only Event Espresso plugins, plus ‘Contact Form 7’ and ‘Application Passwords’ plugins (both of which i’ve tried disabling)

That may be an issue caused the theme. You can rule that out by installing the theme test drive plugin, then temporarily switch to another theme as the admin.

I’ve tried that, by switching to the WordPress Twenty Sixteen theme, and the same problem occurs.

The Attendee Mover function is only used in the back end, so I doubt theat the theme would be a factor.

I’ve tried using diferent PCs, Windows 7 and 10, IE, Firefox and Edge

🙁

Someone from Event Espresso staff can take a closer look at the Attendee Mover page if you can complete the secure form on this page:

https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

As an aside, themes do load code (functions) in the back-end of the WordPress website, so it’s important to rule out a theme conflict even if it’s a function on the back-end of the site.

FYI, the password you sent in the form is not valid.

This is the error in the browser’s console:

Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 406 (Not Acceptable)

So it looks like there’s a mod_security rule being triggered when it tries to load up the event list. You can contact your host and let them know you have a WordPress plugin that’s trying to load up a list of events using JSON, but in doing so is apparently tripping up mod_security. They should be able to check the logs to find what triggered the 406 and make any adjustments needed to allow loading up that event list.

Off topic: you can leave the Country pack plugin deactivated. That plugin runs a script one time to load in the UK counties after it’s first activated, and shouldn’t be left activated after that.

Thank you .. all sorted now.

For the record, a security rule was triggered which caused the above error. Once this particular riule was whitelisted on this domain the issue was resolved, and the list of events was displayed.

Thank you for you support
