I tried setting up a new credit card service to work with my website. The credit card account works fine except when I try to create a payment through my website and I get an error code: 13 The merchant Login ID is invalid or the account is inactive. I verified that the API and transaction keys are correct. The url for the page that should be the credit card page on my website is: https://test.authorize.net/gateway/transact.dll. After calling my credit card company, the said that the URL should be set to:https://secure.authorize.net/gateway/transact.dll. The problem is that I do not know where the URL should be placed.

Thank you

Mark

Hello Mark,

I am assuming you are using the AIM gateway is that correct?

If so have you double checked that your Login ID is correct and that you have de-selected both the “Account Uses Authorize.net development Server” and “Submit a Test Transaction” options?

Yes, I am using AIM.net SIM gateway. I de-selected those settings, and verified the login ID and the transaction key Now I get an error message:
The following errors have occurred.
(14) The referrer, relay response or receipt link URL is invalid.

Hi Mark,

Are you using the Authorize.net SIM gateway? If so, on that gateway settings you’ll see ‘Relay Response URL’ and a yellow box containing a url.

Login to Authorize.net, goto Account > Response/Receipt URLs > Add URL and enter the URL there.

Generally Speaking this URL will be the Thank-page which has the [ESPRESSO_PAYMENTS] shortcode.

I am using authorize.net SIM gateway. I copied the url into the response/receipt box. Unfortunately I received the same error message.

Hi Mark,

What is the URL that was placed in the Authnet account settings?

That appears to be the correct URL. Is the Authorize.net account that you’re setting up the same one that has the credentials entered in Event Espresso>Payment settings?

You might try unchecking the Force HTTPs on return URL box because it appears your domain is using a shared SSL certificate.

Unfortunately that did not work. I am still getting the error 4 message

Mark,

Can you clarify? Is it:

(14) The referrer, relay response or receipt link URL is invalid.

or is it

(4) something else.

Hi Mark,

What you can do is go to this page at Authorize.net:

http://developer.authorize.net/tools/responsereasoncode/

and enter 14, click submit, and follow their suggestions.

I have been trying, as well as my bank, to resolve this problem. If I paid for priority support, would you be able to assist me remotely to try to correct this problem?

I tried to take a look at the html of the authnet SIM button that takes you to authorize.net, to compare the relay response url that is being sent there to the relay response url that you put in your account, but all I see is the paypal pro form. We would be happy to take a more extensive look on your site if you would like to purchase a support token.

I paid for Priority service and Tony responded in an email with: Did you go through all the steps here:

https://support.authorize.net/authkb/index?page=content&id=A601&actp=LIST_POPULAR

I know this was mentioned in the forums but as far as I can tell there are no other issues this could be.

You need to check both the Response/Receipt URLs and the Referrer URLs within your authorize.net account. (https://account.authorize.net/)

Could you list the URL’s in both of those sections so we could review those please.

Regards

I do not know how to do this and this is why I paid for Priority Support. Are there any other alternatives?

Sorry, I can’t find the email thread. Did you fill out the form here: https://eventespresso.com/redeem-a-support-token/? We may need temporary access to your authorize.net account to check the settings there.
