Hi, I have seen a couple of other forum entries with similar issues, can’t say I see how to fix it.
I have a client breathing down my neck to get this active as I just seem to have run into problem after problem since installing EE. (Not all ee fault)

Happy to send FTP and wp login, where do I send for someone to take a look?

The site is well established and can’t afford to have it offline to test plugin conflicts etc.
I’ll say that it was working, had seen this error once or twice, then worked again, but now it seems blocked permanently.

Hope you can help soon.

Ian

Just bumping, so I can possibly get an answer as before you finish for the day and I start and then it becomes another day for a solution.

Could really use some help here.

Hi Ian,

Just to note, bumping your thread will usually have the opposite effect as we try to work through the oldest threads first.

The site is well established and can’t afford to have it offline to test plugin conflicts etc.

Do you not have a development copy of the site running within a subdomain? (or even locally) if not it is highly recommend to set this up. De-activating plugins, switching themes, enabling WP_DEBUG and shifting through any error messages is best done away from view of your visitors on a development copy.

Has there recently been any failed updates? Be that WP core, any plugins or even a theme?

Have there been any chances between when this did work and now?

We’ve has seen another instance of this where the site did not have access to create new database tables, it could read and write to any existing tables, but could not create new ones. Do you have access to the database to check the EE tables are available?

Hi Tony, I can’t say there has been any failed updates, I don’t have an upto date dev copy of the site.
I am having some issues with backupbuddy right now, just opened a support ticket with iThemes on that.

following is displaying when debug is set to true.
An EE_Error exception was thrown! code: EEM_Base – _do_wpdb_query – 1731
“WPDB Error: “Unknown storage engine ‘InnoDB'””
click to view backtrace and class/method details
/home/cleanhea/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/core/db_models/EEM_Base.model.php ( line no: 1731 )

here is part view of BD in phpmyadmin.

Not sure where to go from here?

Using FTP check within the WP root directory, do you see a file called .maintenance?

I am having some issues with backupbuddy right now, just opened a support ticket with iThemes on that.

Is it similar to the issue you have posted?

Unknown storage engine ‘InnoDB’

Although EE is displaying this error, its actually just using the WPDB class to communicate with the DB and the DB is throwing that error.

It looks like there is an issue with connecting to the database on your server, have you contacted your host to have them investigate?

no .maintenance file

BB is not connecting to database either.

Have contacted host, will see what happens now.

Please let us know how you get on.

Although EE is showing the error message it seems to be an issue with connecting to the database and therefor a problem with the server.
