The event categories management

Hello,

We create new categories every semester we create new events ( for example, last years fall events were under the 2018 Fall Courses, now it is going to be 2019 Fall Courses ) to keep archived data separated, but it is causing a long list of categories, so it is getting hard to find the current categories when we/site visitors search for them.

Is there a way to hide/expire the past events categories?

Thank you,

Josh

You could delete the categories you’re no longer using.

But, how am I going to find the related events/data to the deleted categories if I need to in the future?

I guess you wouldn’t delete the categories if you still intend on using them.

Another approach would be to start another site (like a sub-site) that’s only for 2019. This will keep your data from 2018 and 2019 separate, and you’ll avoid long lists of categories this way.
