http://178.159.11.199/baker-street/ – The site I am working on.
The client wants a calendar on the homepage, using espresso. So, I have tried to add the widget calendar but there is minimal control over it. They want a small calendar to the right with text to the left of it, 2 columns, 1 row. I tried to use the shortcode and it doesn’t work at all, so I am left with some big ugly calendar with little to no design control and a pretty annoyed client. Why doesn’t the shortcode work and can someone help me make it two columns, one with a smaller, more appealing calendar and text to the left of it?

Hi there,
I can’t see the calendar on that page currently, I’m assuming you have removed it?
Looking over your site the theme is loading widget areas at full width, so when you add the EE calendar widget it will use all of the space available to it. The two columns feature of the widget area would be a feature of the theme rather than Event Espresso. and the widget can’t control the widget area it loads within, the theme does that.
Is there another page I can view the calendar on?
