Testing EE update on development site

Hi – I haven’t update EE in a while and I am a bit wary of doing so on my live site. I have taken a copy of my site and I would like to test the update there but it looks like the licence is preventing me from doing so.
Is there a way of allowing an additional development (not public) site to run under my licence without incuring additional fees?

Hi,

You can run additional sites. What you do is remove the site license key from the development site (set in Event Espresso > General Settings).

The software will continue to function exactly the same as it does without the key set there.
