We are not receiving the Event Admin emails for Registration Approved. When I pull up Event Espresso – Editing Email Registration Approved Template and click “Test Send” I do NOT receive the test email if I have the Event Admin recipient email in view. If I change the view to Primary Registrant and click Test Send, I get the test email right away. I am using Event Espresso – 4.7.9.p and I have read a dozen or more existing topics, but none seem to address this. Thanks for your help! |
Hi there, could you let us know if there is an email entered into that field when you are testing? Also, could you do us a favor and link to one or two of the support posts that you found? We do appreciate you searching for a solution and I want to make sure that this is a different issue. For example, some of the recent support posts related to certain email arriving to spam / junk mail have been resolved by using a transactional email service like Postmark app or Mandrill. Thanks! — |

I’ve made sure all the fields are filled out. I have tried different email addresses for the test field. If I request a test for an email that goes to the registrant, I get it instantly. If I switch to testing the registration approved email for admins, I get nothing. I have tried different email addresses and checked spam filters. Nothing there. Andy |
Thanks for the updated information. I think a transactional email service could help here. Could you go ahead and setup Mandrill? https://eventespresso.com/wiki/postmark-app-mandrill-transactional-email-handling-services/ — |

I can. Can you explain why you think it will work. I get all other test emails except this one. I don’t see how this will help, but if you can explain, I will find the time to set it up. Thanks. |
Sure! Event Espresso itself does not send out any emails. It uses a native WordPress function called wp_mail which then uses the local email server. Restrictions on that local email server could lead to sporadic email issues so we recommend transactional email services since they’ll take over sending emails for your entire WordPress site. You could also try setting up the Email Log plugin which will record the sending attempts. If you see that it is sending, then there is an issue on the local email server and a transactional email service can help. If it is not sending as in it is not being recorded, then do let us know. Thanks — |

I still don’t understand why that one email would not send, when all of the others did, but in any event Postmark seems to have fixed the issue. Thanks. |
One difference in the event admin emails is they use _FORMATTED emails within the TO field, whereas the Recipient eails use just the email address. The difference? Formatted – “Tony Warwick” Unformatted – tony@myemail.com It sounds like your hosts mailserver did not like the formatted emails. You can confirm this if by temporarily disabling the PostMark plugin, edit the Reg Approved message template (be sure you are within the Event Admin Contact) then change the TO field from: [EVENT_AUTHOR_FORMATTED_EMAIL] to [EVENT_AUTHOR_EMAIL] Save and then send a test email. Does it work? |

Thanks Tony. I had seen that advice on another post, but it didn’t help. In any event, Postmark seems to be the fix for now. |
