Hi, I was wondering if I can get access to a test environment.

Also, can you tell me when a user signs up for an event, do they get added as a WordPress user and if they signup multiple people to an event, do they get added as WordPress users?

I really like the features you guys offer, but I am reading quite a few issues being raised and slightly scared to outlay the money when it may not be 100% stable yet.

Cheers,
Rachel

Hi Rachel,

I will follow up with each of your questions below:

Hi, I was wondering if I can get access to a test environment.

Yes, you can! Right here:

Also, can you tell me when a user signs up for an event, do they get added as a WordPress user and if they signup multiple people to an event, do they get added as WordPress users?

Not automatically, and it’s not a feature that we’ve added yet, but it’s a feature that we are working on adding to the WP user integration add-on. We’ve been testing it and it may be ready to ship soon.

I really like the features you guys offer, but I am reading quite a few issues being raised and slightly scared to outlay the money when it may not be 100% stable yet.

Which issues are you reading about that are scaring you? While our software is far from perfect, it does work very well for many people when it’s installed on recommended hosting:

https://eventespresso.com/requirements/

One thing to note about the some of the issues you may read about in the forums is many times folks will think there is an issue with the Event Espresso software and it will turn out to be not a problem with the software, but another factor. These include the hosting environment, the WordPress installation’s other plugins or theme, or confusion over how a specific feature is supposed to work. We are here to help with those issues though. If there’s a bug that gets reported, we generally get a hotfix out as soon as possible too.

As an aside, we’ve made a list of plugins that have been known to create issues here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/known-third-party-plugin-theme-conflicts/

if you look over the list you’ll note that some of the plugins listed there will work fine alongside Event Espresso if their settings are properly configured.

Thanks Josh, I will check out the test environment.

I guess it makes it so hard to gauge the forum support issues when we can’t see support responses.

So you’re saying not even the person who registers gets added as a user?

Also with discounts, can a discount be applied if multiple attendees register. So if you register 2 or more people, there is a percentage off each ticket?

Hi Rachel,

So you’re saying not even the person who registers gets added as a user?

This is correct, when you register for an event, it does not automatically create a user account. We are working on a new feature that will add this capability, but it’s not ready to ship yet.

Also with discounts, can a discount be applied if multiple attendees register. So if you register 2 or more people, there is a percentage off each ticket?

This isn’t a core feature. The core discount feature allows discount codes to be applied to the order, which will discount each ticket. There is an add-on available in the pre-release channel that allows for volume discounts (eg set a threshold of 2 tickets and apply a discount) however the pre-releases are not 100% stable, and are released for testing/trial use.
