Term Classes

I’m looking at EE4 and trying to determine if the structure fits our needs.
We have classes of a certain type. There are several instances of these classes that run at the same time over a term, that is Monday 1300 to 1500, Monday 1700 to 1900, Tuesday 1700 to 1900 etc.
The tickets seem to be specific to the class instance. When I try EE4 in your demo site I see that the way the information is presented implies a hierarchy of Class then Ticket Option and then the sessions are displayed at the bottom but without being associated with an option. Also even though I assigned a specific type of ticket to one session and not the other it appears anyway.
Finally I created 2 sessions but only one of them appears. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong.

Hi Peter,

You can assign a ticket to a specific datetime by clicking on the advanced icon (gear) on the ticket editor:

You’ll also want to edit the name of the tickets to clarify the different classes (e.g morning, afternoon, etc).

OK that’s fine – I understand that I will need to create a new ticket for each session.
But what about the second part of my question? The class has two sessions but only the 1st one appears when I view the site.
Thanks
Pete

Do you have a link to your event so we can take a look?

Hi,

These are the options that are set on that event:

This matches what is set in the event editor in the WordPress dashboard.

What is missing?

OK I have created named tickets that correspond to the Event date times. However the information seems inverted, details are shown for the tickets and then the event for which the ticket is valid. For us the approach is that the date time for the session should have more prominence, i.e. I don’t really care about the dates that the ticket is available but rather the dates for the session and this seems to be shown further down the page.
Is this the only way it can be used. IN other words what I would like is :

Class A
Session 1 – Start End
Ticket A,
Ticket B
Session 2 – Start End
Ticket C

Class B
Session 1 – Start End
Ticket A
Ticket B

Rather than what is displayed:
Class A
Ticket A date ticket valid
Session 1 dates
Ticket B …

Etc

Thanks for your help with this.
Cheers

If the classes (A,B,C) are unrelated then you could split them into multiple events. Then you could add the name of the session to the beginning of the ticket name so it would look like this:

Class A

Session 1 – Ticket A
Session 1 – Ticket B
Session 2 – Ticket A
Session 2 – Ticket B
