Considering moving from Paypal to Stripe. We do less than $1,000/month in payment processing at the moment and PayPal customer support has been horrible – Is this a smart move? How do we switch without disrupting users?

Hi Jon,

What version of Event Espresso are you currently using for your project?

We do find Stripe to more reliable than PayPal for most users.

For Stripe you’ll need an SSL certificate on your site and there are a couple of modules that are required on the server, most hosts already have these enabled but its possible you will need these enabled so I would recommend contacting your host to check they have the cURL, JSON and MultiByte String PHP extensions enabled on the server.

Other than that you can run both PayPal and Stripe at the same time and then de-activate PayPal when ready. Your users will be given the choice of which to use at checkout if they are both active.
