Hi All – I am setting up an event that is selling tickets. I would like to suppress all the email notifications except for the ticket. I looked in the notifications panel for the Event and I see that I can change the templates or create a new message but no where does it allow me to turn them off. Can you help me with this – Your help will be greatly appreciated!

Hi there,

We don’t have an option to disable the notifications per event, however you can do it with a custom template.

You will need to create a custom template for EACH message type you want to disable, set the ‘To’ for each template to nothing and then set that template within the event.

For example to do the Registration Approved message you go to:

Event Espresso -> Messages -> Default Message Templates.

Find the Registration Approved message type there and click ‘Create Custom’ – http://take.ms/bWksx

You’ll now see a custom message template created for the Reg Approved message type.

Provide a meaningful name for the template (add ‘Disabled’ to the end so you know the template is disabled) and set the ‘To’ field to nothing – http://take.ms/6JUxl

Its important to note that message templates have multiple ‘contexts’ in which they are used, the screen shot above shows the ‘Event Admin’ context, you need to edit all contexts for that custom message template and set the to field to nothing, see here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/messages-system-working-with-message-contexts/

You’ll need to do that for all of the message templates so you have a ‘Disabled’ template for all of them.

You can then select that disable template for each message type within the event – http://take.ms/pB5zX

When the ‘To’ field of a template is set to nothing, no message is generated so setting the custom templates to have no to field then setting those on an event basically disable that message on the event.

(You do not need a unique set of templates for each event, now you have a ‘disabled’ set you can use those same templates for any event you want to do this on)
