Stuck in EE Maintenance Mode

After upgrading EE plugin from 4.8.43.p to 4.9.1 a message appeared to migrate data (1) with url /wp-admin/admin.php?page=espresso_maintenance_settings&action=default&default_nonce={nonce removed}

Selecting Option 1 (“Yes. I have backed up my database, understand the risks involved, and am ready to migrate my existing EE4.8.41.p (Core) data to EE4.9.0 (Core).”) – the button doesn’t work. Nothing happens. Checking browser console there are no errors. Trying a different browser has no effect. Turning wp error reporting on or off reveals nothing (normally turned off). There is a hidden button “Being Migration”, but revealing this button and selecting it also has no effect.

How do we get around this? We have currently restored the website to the last EE version. We wish to make the update with minimal downtime.

(1) Migrate data message:
As part of the process for updating Event Espresso, your database also needs to be updated. Event Espresso is in COMPLETE MAINTENANCE MODE (both WordPress admin pages and front-end event registration pages are disabled) until you run the database update script. Visit the Maintenance Page to get started, it only takes a moment.

Hi Jeremy,

It sounds like there is a JavaScript error being thrown on the migration page which is likely being caused by a plugin loading content on that page that is un-needed.

If you open up Chrome Dev Tools on the migration page do you see JS errors within ‘console’?

Yes I checked that too, there are no errors being reported in the console.

This is resolved now.

We momentarily turned off all plugins except for EE4, and the migration process then worked. That was a valid approach I had overlooked doing before submitting this ticket.
