Stripe Gateway for EE4, Customer Name not coming through to Stripe

I am using Stripe Gateway for EE4, and it’s working OK. However when the transaction shows up in Stripe, under the Cardholder Name, only their email address is showing. I would have expected both. I have enabled address fields on the EE booking form but no address info comes through to Stripe either. Is there anything that can be done so that Cardholder Name and Email (at least) is transmitted through to Stripe?

Hi Alan,

I have created a ticket for some feedback from our developers on this however I believe this is due to how Stripe Checkout currently works in that it will only allow specific fields to be sent over.

I will update this thread with any feedback given.

Hi Alan, we went with Stripe Checkout for the payment gateway as its automatically optimized for desktop / notebook purchases as well as mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.

We are now discovering some limitations on the parameters that are available. For example, on the main docs page, it does not show name (e.g. buyer name) as a parameter:

https://stripe.com/docs/checkout

We’ve asked a developer to double-check and we’ll update this support post once we have more information.

Hi Alan, when I replied earlier this month a billing name parameter was not available. I’ve checked again and there are some new parameters available:

https://stripe.com/docs/checkout#integration-options-billing-address

It appears that it is now possible to collect the billing name as part of the billing address so I’ve updated the ticket that was created for this issue.

It would be great if this could be integrated into a future release of the Gateway

Hi Alan,

I’ve just finished up testing and this works as expected so this will go out in a maintenance release this week. You can one-click update through your WP dashboard at that time.

Just so we are clear, this is collected as part of the billing address parameter. There isn’t an option to get only the name at this time but I’ve run through a series of tests and it records the card holder name in Stripe when this parameter is enabled.

Thanks

Hi Lorenzo, I will have a look when it becomes available. I think that any additional information that can come through to Stripe would be an advantage. I look forward to seeing what it does. Thanks for your hep

Here is an example:
