Stripe Customer information

Hi!

Before Stripe Elements/SCA update the customer data sent to stripe was the users e-mail. Now it’s the name of the card holder. That becomes a problem if the card holder is not the same as the registrant in EE.

Would it be possible to have the option to send the primary registrant e-mail instead? Or even better if it would be possible to send the transaction id.

Best regards,
Jakob

Hi Jakob,

The Stripe gateway sends a transaction ID back to your site, and it’s shown on the EE > Transactions page under Payment Details in the TXN ID / CHQ #. That number will match the ID on Stripe’s end.

Yes!

But it’s the wrong way if I need to find a transaction in EE from Stripe.

You can find a transaction, in EE from Stripe, by matching the transaction ID supplied by Stripe.

Also, the billing information in Stripe will match the billing information in the Event Espresso Transaction.

But I want to see the customer information in Stripe.

The problem is if I find a transaction in Stripe and I can’t figure out what transaction in EE it belongs to.

Hi,

Stripe doesn’t take the attendee information, it only takes the billing information. I’ve advised two different ways to find the transaction.

Here’s a third way:

You copy the ID from the Stripe payment entry, and paste it into the EE > Transactions page search field. The search result will return the transaction in EE the payment from Stripe belongs to.

Thanks!

Last option works, but it gives more job. Why wouldn’t it be possible to send primary registrant e-mail as before?

This is because the new Stripe Elements billing form includes an email address field. So the purchaser can input their email address into that field.

Thanks!

The problem is that this isn’t shown on Stripes site, nor is it searchable.

But then I understand it’s nothing more you can do. Thanks anyway for your help!
