Strange behaviour on loading shopping cart page

I have previously had EE working fine on my site, but just created a new event, updated to the latest EE plugins, and the shopping cart page is not showing any price points on page load, and the total is showing 100000.

You should be able to see what I mean if you go to the following page, and then click on ‘Register for this event’:

http://opendialogueapproach.co.uk/london-seminar-on-8th-october-2013/

Can you help me fix this?

Thanks,

Nick

Hi Nick,

It looks like you have the Volume Discount Add-on active?

If so even events without a discount need a category and without a discount applied. Its a limitation of the Beta versions of the Volume Discount Add-on.

Does that make sense?

I think so. I have now added a category and made sure that the Volume Discounts are applied to this category, but I am still seeing the same behaviour on the page.

Appologies at first I thought they were seperate events on that page, they are both for the same event by the looks of it?

The top ‘Register Now’ link is the problem, it links to an event with an ID of 1.

The bottom link works fine with an ID of 2.

I’m not sure how the information is being pulled in as your running a modified template, is the top link intended to be different?

Thanks Tom. That was an oversight on my part. All of the price points are showing now, but the total still loads as 100000 and then the cost of any bookings are added to this.

That’s likely a session issue as I don’t have that problem.

If you go to your registration-cancelled page (in your case http://opendialogueapproach.co.uk/registration-cancelled/) that will clear your session.

Then try again.

Thanks Tony. That has fixed it. Hopefully as is well now, and sorry for calling you Tom!

No Problem, I’ve been called worse 😀

Glad it’s all working, any more problems just let us know.

I have just been informed by a user using Google Chrome on Windows (not sure what version), that the cart is loading with a total of 100000 still. I can’t reproduce this with the latest version of Chrome on Windows 8, but I am wondering if anything can be done to address this?

Thanks

Nick

Hi Nick,

The next version of Event Espresso (3.1.35) will have the code that adds the 1000000 figure removed, instead they will get an error message pointing out what went wrong.

The person who reported the issue can clear their cart by going to the same page that Tony advised going to:

http://opendialogueapproach.co.uk/registration-cancelled/

and clear their cart.

Thanks Josh. It would be good to know what is causing this issue though. I am worried that what happened to this particular user will happen to others, and it will put them off signing up for events.

Sorry, I found another cart link that had the wrong event ID. I presume that it was this that was causing the issue.

Thanks,

Nick

Yes, an incorrect event ID in a [ESPRESSO_CART_LINK] shortcode will cause errors when it’s clicked.
