Hi.

We are still experiencing browser issues when using IE10 and EE – the site can be browsed ok but once we hit the submit button (for an event) the browser stops working.

I added our site to be viewed in compatibility view. Still the same result unfortunately.

When pressing submit on the registration page it says internet explorer has stopped working and needs to close down

Hi Nick,

OK, well I can confirm the issue exists on your site, but I have not been able to recreate this locally with any of my test sites, which leads me to believe it is something other than Event Espresso.

Have you checked your server log files? If not please do so.

Also it would be a good idea to turn on Full Logging in the Event Espresso general settings, do a test registration and check the log files for that too (remember to turn Full Logging off after you have finished testing otherwise it can create very large files).

While I doubt it is affecting it, I would also check your jQuery version as your theme is forcing you to use an old version.

IE10 is the most stable version of Internet Explorer, but it is still a buggy piece of software. It could be pretty much anything that is setting it off.

As such I would recommend a full round of troubleshooting: deactivate all plugins except Event Espresso and swap the them to a default one such as TwentyTwelve. Test the registration process in IE10. If it does not crash, activate the theme and try again, then activate the plugins one by one until something happens.

Hi Nick,

Forcing the page to load up in compatibility mode will make it behave like IE7, which a lot of themes and plugins are dropping support for these days.

We advise avoiding running in compatibility mode by using the appropriate meta tags.

If all else fails you could try forcing IE10 to render in IE9 document mode:

Hi guys. the slider appeared to be the offending article. Different version seems to have cured it.
