Hi,

I was talking with my website host (bluehost) and the technician was highly recommending getting a Dedicated IP address and SSL Certificate for the security of running credit cards on the side.

Before doing this I wanted to make sure this is not something that I may already have through either EE or the EE stripe gateway. Can you please expand on the subject?

Hi Cindra,

Event Espresso doesn’t store the card information for a registrant/attendee. Payments via Stripe (e.g. Stripe Checkout) in Event Espresso will work with or without an SSL certificate.

I recommend getting one since it adds additional security to your WordPress site.

Once you have it running, then you can use a free plugin like WP HTTPS to secure your registration checkout page for Event Espresso:
