Splitting a Payment Across Multiple Credit Cards

Up until now, our events have all been low-priced – $50-75 per class, so a simple and straightforward checkout system has been working great. However, we’re about to launch a nine-month program with a cost of $5500 and this raises some payment issues. Specifically that the cost is more than an attendee has available on a credit card.

Although we are allowing people to pay by check and company purchase order, some may want to pay by a credit card (especially those who are attending on their own accord and not sponsored by their company)

Is there anyway that EE can allow the attendee to split the payment across multiple cards?

Hi Rob,

Splitting those payments up during checkout isn’t available but I do have an idea on how this may be handled.

What if there were additional ticket options created which split the payments up into smaller portions? A registrant/attendee would need to register multiple times but they would be able to use different cards.

Thanks Lorenzo – I’ll check with the business team to see if that’s acceptable to them. It’s an excellent and creative work-around!

My guess is that they’ll (hopefully) say no. Worst-case scenario is that we make those people who want to split the payment call the program admin and take the payments over the phone.

I really wasn’t expecting that there would be a way but at least now I know for sure.
