Can you clarify whether this export data is from PayPal or Event Espresso?

To me it looks like that event espresso shows everything right – but as soon as Paypal takes over, special letters are false. Funny thing is, only text part taken from event espressso, when even paypal has his own frontend in german and any other text is right.
Same thing with any export file. Even Ecel sheets does import from event espresso wrong(only special characters), while within event espresso does same text show right.

You might try contacting PayPal support to see if there’s an account setting you can change for this. I know there’s at least one setting where you can change it to UTF-8.

the paypal thing we can´t help, so customers must live with it. Importing UTF-8 works in OpenOffice, we do not work with Microsoft at all any more…
