Spam problem with class registrations

Our website http://www.whitefoxbeads.com is getting fake class registrations from spammers. They can usually be identified by a two letter entry for the phone number. The emails we pursue bounce back.
They are able to input registration information, then don’t complete payment. We are increasingly having to see who is “real” and who is fake. Out EE version is up to date and all other plugins an WP is current.
Can you help?

Hi Gail,

If these are bots leaving info on the registration forms, there is a plugin that will help in cases like this one: Bad Behavior.

One thing that will need to be done when using plugins like this one is “white list” your payment gateway so that payment notifications from them. So for example if you are using PayPal, you would add PayPal’s IP addresses to the Bad Behavior white list.
