Sold Out – Status – Help!

Hi Tony- I have a problem. Events are saying SOLD OUT when they are not at their limit. They are actually well below their limit. Cant figure out why?

Also – why do the numbers not match up for spaces and tickets? That doesn’t seem like it should happen? Shouldn’t they be in sync with each other? We have 20 available spots so we assign 20 available tickets…

Thanks!

Spots Reserved say “number of tickets sold for this event” which actually isn’t accurate. If you had up the spots reserved it equals over 80 but actual registrations are only 53. That is the problem. However, I can’t keep opening up the available spots to allow registrations to fix this because due to Covid we need to keep the regaistrations set at 20 and would like the numbers to reflect that.

Hi Matt,

Can you share a screenshot or two that we can access? The link you posted isn’t something we can see without having admin access to your site.

What this could be is your site is having difficulty with running Cron tasks, which is the mechanism that releases tickets back into the inventory after cart abandonment (usually about after 1 hour).

If you go to your site’s Tools > Health Check page does it mention anything about scheduled tasks being able to run?

Hi Josh – there are no error messages relating to scheduled tasks running. And the other listed events numbers match up as expected. As far as I can tell its only happening to this one event.

Hi Matt,

Thanks for the screenshot, it helps shed light on the problem and the solution. What’s happened is some of the Datetimes have more than one ticket assigned to them.

For example, the Datetime “Monday Class 3:45pm-5:15pm” has both of these tickets assigned to it:
“Single Day – Sat. Class – 1:30pm-3:00pm”
and
“Single Day – Mon. Class – 3:45pm-5:15pm”

I can imagine that you only want the latter ticket assigned to that datetime, not the former.

You can fix this by going in to edit the event, then click the little gear icon that appears in the ticket row. Then you uncheck any datetimes that aren’t supposed to be assigned to that ticket. Then you click the Update button to save the changes.
