Site License Key not allowing update again

This is the second occasion on which I have had to get in touch because I am unable to update the plugin because the site license will not allow me. Even though it is aware that the license is for my site. Neither the main plugin nor the calendar can be updated and i get the following boiler-plate text:

You have the correct Site License Key for Event Espresso but your current membership access only allows for automatic upgrades on one domain. Please log into your account to manage your Site License Keys or purchase a support license now.

Hi Luke,

Your key was reset. I checked and it looks like the last time the site was updated there was still an issue with the Plugin update engine that would require one more reset. Sorry for the trouble.

I can read the next message:

You have correct Site License Key for Event Expresso but your current membership access only allows for automatic upgrades on one domain…

And I only have one Domain, and is in which I am trying to upgrade.

Dean

@Ramon, it has notified us of the site now. I have reset it just in case, so resave the settings page and if the message is still there, please wait 24 hours and if it is still there let me know.

Same for me: I can read the next message:

You have correct Site License Key for Event Expresso but your current membership access only allows for automatic upgrades on one domain…

And I only have one Domain, and is in which I am trying to upgrade.

Hi Wim,

Is your WordPress installation a single site or multi-site install?

Wim Brouwer

April 26, 2013 at 1:43 pm

It is a single site install

Wim Brouwer

You can find it at http://www.beachonwheels.nl

Hi Wim,

There might have been an issue with the missing P from the previous version. I’ll reset your license key and that may help.

Wim Brouwer

Thank you, that was the solution!

Trying to upgrade to the current release I am getting the same error:

You have the correct Site License Key for Event Espresso but your current membership access only allows for automatic upgrades on one domain. Please log into your account to manage your Site License Keys or purchase a support license now. “

I thought we had this issue with the lat upgrade…?

Cheers

Will

Hi Will,

There may have been a glitch with the version numbering with the .31 release that is causing this. I’ll go a head and reset your key which should take care of it.

Thanks.

Same issue. My key was recently reset from my dev site, to the live site.

Dean

May 6, 2013 at 1:37 am

@mross1, Ramon and Todd – I have reset your licence keys, please remove the licence key from the General Settings, save and add it back and save.

If the issue is still occurring in 24 hours please advise.

Resetting the key per say didn’t solve the problem as I copied the reset key from your website and replaced the old version on my website. Same problem.

However, I think I have uncovered what has been causing the problem. When one copies the key from your website, it is easy to also capture a leading space. I spotted the space on my website and removed it. Fingers’ crossed but it seems to have made a difference.

Perhaps you can strip out any inadvertent spaces that may be captured when users paste in the key?

Regards

Will

Hi Will,

Yes a space will definitely mess things up on the key. There is a dev ticket outstanding on this, ill bump it a bit, see if we can get that resolved.

Resetting the key worked for me. Thanks, Dean!

Still experiencing the problem after reset.

Dean

May 7, 2013 at 1:22 am

@mross. I recreated your key completely. Please remove the one in your General Settings and save. Go to your account page here on eventespresso.com and get the new key and add it to your General settings and save. Let me know in 24 hours if that has not resolved the problem.

That seems to have fixed it. Thank you.

Dear Support Team,

I have the same trouble as well. While updating to 3.1.32 we get a failure notice. Can you please reset our SLK if that solves the problem?

Thanks

Dean

May 12, 2013 at 11:13 pm

@ Lynn – I recreated your key too since you had a recent reset. Can you please add the new key as per the above instructions

@glokhorst – that possibly is a different issue, can you please create a new forum thread providing the error details in full please.

Hello.  Have matching keys in my admin settings and profile, both showing the accurate domain, but getting this same error message.  Do I need a key reset for http://discovertechnology.org?

Thanks!

Need mine reset, too! Multi-site installation, using 2 of 5 licenses on a developer acct. The gotkizombafestival.com and cartara.com sites won’t allow auto upgrade.

Thanks @dean. I was able to upgrade, however the following error generated:

Warning: in_array() [function.in-array]: Wrong datatype for second argument in /home/ltaillon/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/espresso.php on line 1110

Hi Lynn,

Can you try deactivating, then reactivating Event Espresso? If the error re-appears, please start a new support topic and we can help you there.

I have the website TulsaFencing.com.  I receive the same message for Event Espresso, Espresso Calendar and Espresso Social.

I have a Business License that expires on August 12, 2013.

I have re-typed and cut-and-pasted my support license key.

No joy.

Thank-you for your help.

Dean

May 14, 2013 at 11:43 pm

@Reece, I have reset your licence key, please remove it from your site, save the settings, add it back and save. If the error has not resolved itself in 24 hours please advise.

Hello

It seems that my rights do not allow me an automatic update plugin.

Can you tell me if the plug-ins are installed last?

thank you

Dean

May 15, 2013 at 12:09 am

@Jerome, none of your licence keys have been activated, so automatic updates will not work. Have you entered a licence key into the General Settings page (at the bottom)? If you have, would there be anything that would block communication between your site and ours?

jerome moreau

May 15, 2013 at 12:21 am

I do not understand, what should I do?

Dean

May 15, 2013 at 12:58 am

Hi Jerome,

If you log into your Event Espresso account page, on the right hand side you will see a list of Site License Keys.

Copy one of these keys making sure there are no spaces at the front or end of it.

Then log into your WordPress site and go to the Event Espresso General Settings menu.

Scroll to the bottom of the screen and you will see an input field for the Site Licence Key. Paste the copied key there and click the Update Settings button.

After that, go to the Plugins menu and updates should become available. Sometimes it takes a little while for your site to talk to ours to confirm the key is valid, so if the updates are not available straight away give it some time.
