Hi there,

First of all I want to tell you peeps that you make a very good product and we use it on a daily basis and can’t complain. But there is one thing, since we use Event Espresso with five other add-ons, the site became very slow and more slower overtime, sometimes with a time-out. I don’t want to say this is the fault of Event Espresso, but I can image that the more plugins you use, to slower everything gets, especially powerfull plugins like yours. I made several websites, and the sites that don’t use Event Espresso aren’t facing this issue.

My question is, do you have any recommendation or point in the right direction how to solve this issue? We’ve tried many things like the comments on gtmetrix.com, but with no result.

Hope to hear! Thank you in advance.

We also use WP super cache and added the following,

wp-.*\.php
index\.php
/events/
/afronding-aanmelding/
/transacties/
/registratie-geannuleerd/
/bedankt/

to the option where not to cache these pages.

Thank you for the feedback 🙂

My question is, do you have any recommendation or point in the right direction how to solve this issue?

So, the first question is what type of hosting are you using?

How many (roughly) events/registrations/messages do you have saved within Event Espresso?

Hi Tony,

Sorry for the late reply. What do you precisely mean by what type of hosting, so I can check this?

At this point we have 104 saved events, 1334 registrations and 2069 messages. I can imagine that the higher the numbers things can slow down.

Hope to hear!

So there’s many different types of hosting and some are geared to work better to work for specific types of sites than others.

The first question is are you using a shared hosting package as it’s the most common? Shared hosting is cheap and careful but as the name suggests means that your site is sharing resources with X number of other sites all installed on the same server.

The short of my question is ‘how good is your hosting package’?

At this point we have 104 saved events, 1334 registrations and 2069 messages. I can imagine that the higher the numbers things can slow down.

Those are not really high numbers and shouldn’t be slowing down the site all that much.
