Hi there,

We are arranging two events over a weekend and we would like to give attendees the option to buy both the event’s together in one ticket at a reduced price. Is there a way to do this? We have version 4.

Thanks,

Peter

Hi Peter, that isn’t currently available as tickets are set on a per-ticket basis.

Do you have a specific number of tickets that should be available for both events?

Here is an example:

Event ABC – 50 tickets

Event XYZ – 50 tickets

Thanks for the reply Lorenzo.

Yep, there will be a limit on the tickets available.

The other idea was to use discounts but from what I’ve found on the forums this isn’t available yet. Would you know when it will be?

Hi, one option would be to handle registration for both events under one event. Then create specific ticket options like this:

Event ABC – price
Event XYZ – price
Bundle for Event ABC and Event XYZ – discounted price

One of our cofounders shared feedback on promotions codes for Event Espresso 4 here:

How would that work when using the barcode scanner? Both events are separate so if someone was to purchase a bundled ticket (ABC and XYZ) through the ABC event registration checkout, would the ticket still be approved using the barcode scanner for XYZ event?

Hi,

If the events occur at different times/dates then you could use the datetime system, e.g.:

Create a datetime for Saturday and a datetime for Sunday
Event A is attached to Saturday
Event B is attached to Sunday
Event A/B (the combined ticket) is attached to Saturday and Sunday

That way, if the person tries to use the ticket for Event B on a Saturday the scanner will refuse the ticket, but tickets for Event A and Event A/B will both work on the Saturday.

If the events are running at the same time, then applying them to the same datetimes and giving the A/B ticket more than one use (# Datetimes) will allow the ticket to be scanned X number of times.

LEt me know if you have any questions, or if your use case differs from this!
