Showing just expired events with EVENT_LIST shortcode

Is there a way to show just a list of expired events instead of current and expired? We are wanting to have an archive page of past events and haven’t come across any out of the box shortcode for event_list?

Current shortcode:

[EVENT_LIST show_recurrence=true show_expired=true events_per_page=20 sort=DESC order_by=date(start_date)]

Hi Chris,

One method of showing expired/past events is to create a category for archived events.

Then add this shortcode to a WordPress page or post.

Then when an event has expired, you can reassign it to this new category.

So to be clear you would have to manually assign older events to a particular category as they expire in order to show just those and not current events. Seems a bit counterproductive to manually manage past events when you can specify the opposite (show expired = true) through a shortcode. I guess I was expecting something similar for current (show current = false)

Thanks.

Hello,

You can’t currently do that through the shortcode. The workaround is to manually reassign.

Here is an example of a custom query that can be added to a page template:
