got everything up and running, the Event page short code is good and I have that on the event registration page.

Where do I find the short code to the transaction page. I’ve checked the Payment settings and the PayPal documentation is correct. {although no icon is showing up for the Paypal button} But when I test the registration, it goes to page not found, not paypal.

thanks, Teresa

Hi Teresa,

The transaction page should have been set up with a shortcode when the plugin was created and (importantly) the options saved. If not please head over to the General Settings and in the Page Settings section it lists the current pages being used and the shortcodes that need to be on the pages.

Yep. checked that. Transaction page has this short code V [ESPRESSO_TXN_PAGE]  But the program is still not going to a confirmation page and then on to Paypal.

I’ve checked my Payment settings and they are the same as last year [apparently even tho we deleted the programs some items stayed and came up with the re-install.

Is there supposed to be an additional short code in there like with the registration page?

Looking to go live at 1 PM today, so getting a tad bit anxious!

On my Event Registration page I have the short code and then the event registration.
[EXPRESSO_EVENTS]
[SINGLEEVENT single_event_id=”21st-annual-scbwi-fall-conference-2-51c34df152dc2″]

Hi,

apparently even tho we deleted the programs some items stayed and came up with the re-install

The settings are saved to the database and not removed on deletion, as a precaution against accidental removals.

Generally we recommend only having the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode on the main event registration page. You can create a secondary page using [EVENT_LIST] (which is virtually identical, but more flexible).

The Transaction page should NOT have anything else with it.

I hope you dont mind but we had login details for you on file still so I took the liberty of examining the pages.

First off the Event Registration page is set to Private, it absolutely must be public. Feel free to hide it from your menu but the page must be accessible.

Secondly, the shortcode to be used is [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] no X in it 🙂

Thirdly, you may also want to check the Permalink for that page as it looks very strange as if there are two website URLs in it.

Fourthly, you may want to clear out the Page Trash, sometimes with WordPress it still registers a page even if it is in the Trash, a weird bug with WordPress but been known to cause issues in the past.

All pages are set to public.

I tried to put the [SINGLEEVENT single_event_id=”21st-annual-scbwi-fall-conference-2-51c34df152dc2″] code in the [EVENT_LIST]  page, but since we only have one event with multiple pricing it looked as if everyone would be charged the amount at the top. So I put the code back on the event registration page.

In page settings, I have Event registration as the page with the code [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] and it takes me to the event.

for transactions I have it set to transactions page, and the transaction code. But I’m in a loop. I go in and fill out the page and go back to the registration page, not to the confirmation page that has the paypal button. What am I doing wrong?

thanks,

Hi,

OK, again I hope you dont mind but I logged in and made some edits. First off I changed the Page titled Event Registration so that the correct shortcode was in use.

I didnt change the permalink but I would advise you to. The page is http://www.scbwicarolinas.org/scbwicarolinas-orgevent-registrationee6/, as you can see it is somewhat strange.

However, now that I have amended the shortcode, that page is now (correctly) showing the same event twice, once because of the default required shortcode and once because you have an additional Single Event shortcode in there. I would recommend removing the Single Event shortcode.

It is now possible to reach the payment page.

i also fixed the Paypal button image that was missing.

LOL, I don’t mind at all! thank you.

I have no idea how to change the permalink, and I’m not sure I understand why.

I found the information on the short code icon on the Event overview page  but any suggestions to change would be wonderful.
Short URL/Shortcode
This is the short URL to this event:
http://www.scbwicarolinas.org/scbwicarolinas-orgevent-registrationee6/?ee=6
This will show the registration form for this event just about anywhere. Copy and paste the following shortcode into any page or post.
[SINGLEEVENT single_event_id=”21st-annual-scbwi-fall-conference-2-51c34df152dc2″]

It’s all coming together, Event Expresso is super and will so post on my fb page! and on our group page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Society-of-Childrens-Book-Writers-and-Illustrators-of-the-Carolinas/239318096149866

Hi,

If you edit the Event Registration page, just below the title and to the right is an Edit button. Click that and change the URL to something suitable. http://d.pr/i/etX0

You dont have to, but that url is shown to people and possibly shared by people so it makes sense to give it a good understandable name such as event-registration or events or similar (only use letters, numbers and dashes)

Yes if you have the Single Event shortcode on the Event Registration page, that event will show up on EVERY event registration page. Problem with that though is it will show up on the registration page, confirmation page, and possibly elsewhere as that Event Registration page is used dynamically throughout the plugin, so additional content will show in places you may not want it to.

I would suggest removing the Single Event shortcode from there and either just using the default event url (currently http://www.scbwicarolinas.org/scbwicarolinas-orgevent-registrationee6/?ee=6) or adding the shortcode to a separate page or post.

me again.  Haven’t changed the url yet, Jonathan is logged in to the page. But is the reason I’m getting two frames of registration, one on top of the other, because I have the [SINGLEEVENT single_event_id=”21st-annual-scbwi-fall-conference-2-51c34df152dc2″] on the page with [ESPRESSO_EVENTS]? Will that go away if I change [SINGLEEVENT… to a url?

sigh. me again! http://www.scbwicarolinas.org/2013scbwicconferenceeventregistration/

on our event registration page [I changed the url to to the conference name] two registration boxes show up. One with a price [and the pricing is varied so that’s not accurate] and one with the registration itself. Howe do I get rid of the top small box?

I’m up against my 1 PM deadline for opening registration. Thanks.

Hi Teresa,

You really need to make a separate page for [SINGLEEVENT]. If it’s on a page with another shortocode like [EVENT_LIST] or [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] it will lead to having extra boxes on the page and in the case of the latter, each screen through the registration process will be confusing.

okay, created another page. put in [SINGLEEVENT]  under general setting made that the event page, and then

[SINGLEEVENT single_event_id=”21st-annual-scbwi-fall-conference-2-51c34df152dc2″]  and the message is

This event has expired or is no longer available.

Hi Teresa,

The page that has the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode needs to be set as the main registration page. If any other page is set to be the main registration page, the registration process will break.

So. can I make it like a cascade.

The main registration page Event Registration has [EXPRESSO_EVENTS]

then I create a page 2013 Event Registration and I put that url into the Event Registration Page?

Then on the 2013 Event Registration page I put in [SINGLEEVENT]  and the [SINGLEEVENT single_event_id=”20th-annual-scbwi-c-fall-conference-2-4fcd11a17337e”]

Is that how it would work?

No, I would advise to hide the main registration page from the site’s navigation menu, and place the page that has the [SINGLEEVENT] shortcode in the site’s navigation menu. If you have a single event that people will be registering for, there is no need for them to know about the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] page. When they finish the registration form on the [SINGLEEVENT] page, it will automatically take them on to the next part of the registration process that’s generated by [ESPRESSO_EVENTS].

thanks, I may try that in the dark of night so as not to make the native restless. The registration is up and working and people are registering…so right now, good to go! thanks.
