Hi,

I have tried to figure out how to set up alternate emails in EE4 for notice of registration. I found posts that indicate I need to customize the registration notification emails which I can do but I was wondering what happens if I have multiple events occurring at the same time but with different event coordinators.

Is the customized registration notification email global for every event or specific to each? Do I need create a unique customized email for every event? Is there a short_code for event coordinators that could be used instead?

thanks
Randy

Set the TO field for the Registration Approved message type for the Event Admin to the following and save changes:

[EVENT_AUTHOR_EMAIL]

That will send out event admin notifications to the different event authors.

Lorenzo, most of the event coordinators are not event authors and they are not WP users either. They are not the ones that create the events in event espresso. I generally do all that work. I suppose I could add them as a WP user then I could select them as author so that they would get an email. I’ll play around with things and see if I can find a work around. I like EE4 a lot but this is at least one feature that seems to a be a step backward from EE3.

Lorenzo, to follow up, I did create a WP user and was able to get a second email sent out. There will be times however I will need to have registration information sent to more than one person (in addition to the admin) but I guess I’ll just have to sort that out manually. In EE3 there was a field that could be populated with as many emails as I wanted to list which would have been nice to have in EE4.

Create a custom template for the registration approved message type for the event admin. This is done through the event editor (scroll to bottom of page).

Then you can enter additional emails and separate them with commas.

Lorenzo,

I apparently am not doing something correctly. Within the event at the bottom I created a custom template for “Registration Approved” and then tried to put an additional email in the “To” line of the email for “Event Admin”.

I keep getting an error:

An error has occurred: The To field has at least one string that is not a valid email address record. Valid emails are in the format: “Name <email@something.com>” or “email@something.com” and multiple emails can be separated by a comma.
Messages_Admin_Page – _insert_or_update_message_template – 1631

I am formatting the To line as this:

[EVENT_AUTHOR_FORMATTED_EMAIL], [SITE_ADMIN_EMAIL], “xxxxxx@gmail.com” but it is not accepting.

Note that I tried with quotes around the additional email and without quotes but I got the same error.

I also tried to enter an additional email in the Extra Actions box on the right side but that didn’t accomplish anything either.

What am I doing wrong?

Lorenzo, I should clarify what I am needing in this. I need to have an admin email sent to a minimum of three people for every event we do. They are me (as site admin), the leader of the event so they can see who is registering, and our office administrator so she can track payments that are coming in. Sometimes there may be one or two additional people that will need to be notified depending on the event.

thanks
Randy

Sure, try this:

xxxxxx@gmail.com,[SITE_ADMIN_EMAIL],[EVENT_AUTHOR_FORMATTED_EMAIL]

Lorenzo,

Thank you for your help. Either the system needed the unique email addresses in front or the space after the comma was the problem. I made sure the space was gone and the addresses in front and it worked great even with multiple unique addresses.

Thanks again
Randy
