Hi,

The Espresso HTTPS plugin is out of date. It was forked from an existing plugin when that plugin was no longer maintained to help our customers out, but there are other solutions now and we dont recommend using the Espresso HTTPS plugin.

Hi there,

The Better WP Security plugin can be used in this case. Please see option #2 in this documentation for instructions on how to set this up:

OK Better WP would not work with the site. Don’t know why but the cart would never show up just text that said “You may have refreshed your page” etc….

So I installed Option 1 and the cart works great but still can’t get mobile option to work.

Can someone look at this login to FTP or admin

I can get you the details. I really need this to work as I’m running out of time.

I only deactivated Espresso’s Https plugin and did not delete it. Same with the Better HTTPs plugin. If you think delete them would make the difference please let me know.

I made a back up of entire site before installing Better HTTPS and WP HTTPS.

Hi there,

We can confirm that using either the Espresso HTTPs plugin -or- the WP Https plugin breaks the JSON API functionality. What you may need to do in order to use the Better WP security plugin is update to the latest version of Event Espresso (which is currently 3.1.35.1.P).

It may also help if you disable the custom shopping_cart.php file that’s in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates. This will allow the current version’s shopping_cart.php file to load up instead of the customized one that’s loading now.

I need to modify the new shopping_cart.php file to match my website. Some of the default functionality my client did not like. Personal I would love just to use everything you create – it would make upgrades much easier : )

Does the 3.1.35.1.P version also fix the “Leave The Current Page” issue I’m having. I can’t install until later tonight. If fixing these options don’t work what time do support questions start being answered in the morning?

I appreciate all of your help.

It may. If it doesn’t, then there might be some out of date gateway code in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways

How can I get the latest gateway code?

The latest gateway code is included in the Event Espresso plugin.

Josh
I set you up as an admin and sent off an email this morning. I upgraded everything to the latest version of the plugin. I also went through the few custom template files I had for event espresso and updated them to the latest version.

I was able to install Better Https plugin and the iphone app worked. However when I used Better Https plugin instead of the EventEspresso Https plugin, customers started getting the following:

1.) IE users would get try to add events to the cart and the button would then turn into a spinning wheel never resolving itself to the next registration area. My registration area is HTTPS

2.) If they used Firefox or Google Chrome the cart would attempt to go to registration area (No spinning wheel) but would then say something like: You have refreshed your page or your cart is empty. You need to go back and add to cart.

Now if I use the Event Espresso Https plugin all works as it should with both of the 2 items on above. However then the HD mobile app doesn’t work.

My client says if she has to she would rather have them order that use the scanning app. However, we paid for the extra ticketing app so both should work.

I really need someone to figure out what is causing the issue. If you didn’t get the admin information please contact my email and I will resend login information.

The first event starts tomorrow @ 5 (EST). There are only events this month and then they don’t happen again until next Oct. So this needs to work for them.

Please I really need Event Espresso Support to shine on this issue.

Thank you in advance.
Tim

I really need a response here guys. Can you help. Event starts tomorrow.

I really had hoped I would have some type of answer by now. I asked this at 7:00 AM this morning. I can’t begin to tell you how disappointed I am with no response. This is the first time in the 2 years of being a loyal paid supporter, that Event Espresso support has let me down.

My client’s event starts at 5PM TOMORROW. I’ve done all that was asked of me by EE support and this issue has still not resolved.

Hi Tim,

I am really sorry no one got back to you in time, we run a skeleton staff over the weekend period, and it appears no one was available this weekend past. Our response time is generally 24-48 hours during the business week, often faster.

In regards to your issue, I would say that it is likely to be a template issue. While you advise that you have updated the templates, can you run a test with the modified templates completely deactivated (renaming the wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates folder will enable this)?

I have events for the next 3 weekends and then not for another year. So I really need to figure this out. I did what you asked and using the default template, it does the same exact thing I explained in my earlier post.

Now in some post I read, Google analytics might be an issue but I’m not sure what they meant. I do have a Google analytics plugin but disabling didn’t seem to make a difference.

I changed the template back and am still using Event Espresso HTTPS solution because people are still ordering tickets.

Can you please look into this more. I can send you Admin login via email if you need it. I sent it to Josh

It sounds like the issue with Better Https plugin is it is starting a new session when you are going from the page with the add-to-cart button (which I’m assuming is not https) to the page with the cart (which is https). One solution might be to set the page with the add-to-cart button to be https as well. Your customers probably wouldn’t even notice, and it should make it so that it is the same session when you go to the shopping cart.
