Sequential Invoice Number – is there a native solution to this yet?

Our website uses EE in Spain, they require not only sequential invoice numbering, but also that each year starts with 1. (Eg so now 240001)
We also use Memberpress for monthly subscriptions where we can set this parameter. Is there any way to create sequential invoice numbers within EE, or even better link / integrate the sequential numbering with Memberpress so that we only have one stream of generated invoices?

An old thread on a similar topic (ca 2019) indicated that it might be a planned upgrade, another gave a link to developers who presumably could create a custom code to achieve it. Another discussing Attendize (I think) said the problem was there were no data points that could be linked, which might also be the case here…. TIA
