I created an excel file with all my seats with 5 different sections. I upload the excel file and go to the view chart option. I see all my sections however the rows are not in the right order. The back row and front row are fine but it gets confused with the middle rows. It should be listed row V, U, T, S,….. instead it lists row V, J, H,G is there a way to fix this? I have the latest version of Event Espresso with all of the add ons installed.

Thanks for any help,

Seth

Have you tried exporting the excel file as a csv file and uploading that to EE?

Sidney, I haven’t been able to get it to recognize the csv files. I’m not sure if its because I am using the Mac version of Excel?

My layout is very big with over 1,000 seats and I was able to get it to work by splitting the auditorium up into different levels and by sorting my excel document different ways. If there was random error in the order I would just create a new seatchart with the same document and it would then be ok.

I’m still not sure why sometimes it will sort the rows a to z and then sometimes it will list them z to a. It would be nice if there was a way to be able to tell seat chart to sort the rows up or sort them down.

The other thing I am running into is that when a person buys a ticket. Their seat number and row are not being printed on the ticket? Is there a shortcode I need to put in the ticket template? Or do I need to put the seat row and number in the description column?

Thanks for looking into this. I can see how this is a powerful plugin. My other complaint or suggestion for future versions is that it would be nice to allow a person to specify how many tickets they want to order and then be allowed to pick the tickets in the same area or click on multiple tickets without having to click on another window. It would also be good if the person buying the tickets didn’t have to give out a separate name and email for every ticket. The personal info is very good for smaller events but when the event involves larger venues and people are buying 15 to 20 tickets it can be discouraging to have to enter the same info over and over again.

I know this is alpha software. I’m really excited to allow people to pick their seats and buy tickets online. Keep up the good work can’t to see what the final version looks like.

I just read the info about the ticket templates and seatnumbers. If I run into any problems will post them here.
