Hi
I’m trying to find where I set the menu for credit card type on EE4. I am running a sandbox test and after I put in the CC# that paypal sandbox for the test account, the payment page would not display a menu of CC – type options to select.

I do not have a Paypal Pro account and intend to use Paypal gateway for offsite payment with paypal and credit card with my Paypal business account.

Thanks for your help

Hi Teresa,

When using Paypal Standard (offsite) payments Paypal controls the Card types you accept.

It sounds like you are using the Paypal Pro gateway currently? This would be on-site payments and would allow you to select the card types accepted but needs a Paypal Payments Pro account.

If you activate the Paypal Standard payment method, de-activate PayPal pro, when you select Paypal as your payment method you will be directed to Paypal to pay. Be sure to enable Sandbox mode within Paypal Standard and use your sandbox credentials.

Hi there, thanks for the reply. I have a paypal standard business account. I talked to paypal and they took a look at the check out pages. On the EE payment options, I need to remove the invoice and ‘pay by credit card’ button and only have a paypal button. (People can pay with credit card off site thru paypal)

How/where do I remove those in EE?

thank you!

also, I want to add some wording here that lets people know they can pay with credit card in paypal gateway. Where is this editing done on EE?

thank you!

Hi Teresa,

You can deactivate the Invoice and Authorize.net (Pay By Credit Card) under Event Espresso > Payment Methods. Select each of the tabs, and click Deactivate.

The easiest way to add text to the checkout page is to actually enter it on the page where the [ESPRESSO_CHECKOUT] shortcodes is, which is usually the page titled “Registration Checkout”.
