I already posted regarding this topic, but it’s really causing some extra work for the staff, as people keep using a registration they shouldn’t. https://eventespresso.com/topic/restricting-registration/

We don’t have the option to create it as a separate, private event because of some logistics for reporting. We are organizing the event for one of our support centers, so we need to make sure everything is compiled together for them. Anyway, we added text to help highlight that this registration is restricted, but are there any other suggestions? https://www.actmissouri.org/event-registration/2016-midwest-conference-on-problem-gambling-and-substance-abuse-mcpgsa/
Thank you!!!

Hi Katrina,

Without custom development there are 2 options.

Create a new event, set that to password protected and use that event for these registration (which you mentioned is not acceptable)

The other option is to use the EE4 User Integration Add-on to set a ‘minimum required capability’ on the ticket. This means that you can not registration onto the tickt unless your account has the applicability set on the ticket.

Note that with the second option you would need the Scholarship users to create an account on your site first, which you could then confirm and set them to a role with the correct capability. This would then allow your regular users to purchase all of the other tickets but scholarship users need to register onto the site to gain access to the ticket.

Would that work?

Thanks for the information! I’ll check with the team about possible using the integration add-on. I didn’t realize custom coding might be an option. How would I go about finding more info about that? Have a great day!

Just to calrify, by custom development I mean hiring a developer to include the requested functionality, if you would like to investigate this you could contact one of the developers familiar with EE listed here:

https://eventespresso.com/developers/event-espresso-pros/

They may be able to add this for you.
