Requests – Event select with dates & pre-population of ticket selection

Hi Guys

Firstly thanks for moving on this addon. I’ve had a quick play with this and it looks promising. A couple of issues I noticed

1. No date with the event name in the select list. This is essential for me who has numerous events with the exact same name but that occur on different dates. I know in EE3 this was included. I just spent 5 minutes trying to move someone to a new date trying to guess the right event because I didn’t know which event was which.

2. Pre-population of ticket select based on existing ticket selection. On stage 2 of the addon, you are required to select the ticket however this is not pre-populated with the existing ticket. You have to know what the existing ticket was and then manually select the ticket. It just adds another layer of burden to the process.

Is there a default message for transfer? I see the tick box option but what message is sent?

thanks again for your efforts on this

Waz

Great feedback, thanks! I’ve passed this along to our developers.

No problems Seth.

Just another thing, I am not sure about what everyone else thinks, but I would personally prefer an old-school select with all the events already in the drop down and if needed, an optional search filter. If the event dates are included alongside their names, the event that you’re looking is fairly easy to find without the need for a search filter. I would have about 40 events listed at a time. I guess if you had more events than this the search filter may be preferred.

The default message I was talking about is a default transfer message that would be able to be customized and be optionally sent each time a transfer is completed. I am not sure if this is already included (perhaps I am missing something? – I saw the checkbox but no default message in the message list) but if not this would be great to have also.

thanks again for your work

Regarding the emails that are sent out, it should send the relevant messages. Eg, if the attendee is moved to an event/ticket that is a higher price than the original, then they will receive an registration pending payment email. Or if you move the attendee to an event that is the same price, they will receive a registration approved email.

Does that all make sense?

I guess if you had more events than this the search filter may be preferred.

We see sites that run Event Espresso that have hundreds and even thousands of upcoming events.

Thanks Seth, yes that makes sense. It would nice to have a specific transfer message but I can live with the default registration/payment messages being resent for now.

Hi Josh, yes I can see how a search filter would be great when you have a significant number of events. Why not have both a select with a search filter if this is possible? Something like Chosen

I thought what we have is a select with a search filter.

Sorry my mistake, yes there is. I think it was taking awhile to load the events on my site so I didn’t realise it had a drop down as well. Thanks
