Registration Transaction in Expired Event

This event expired on 12-13-14 at Midnight. But on 12-15-14 at 1 pm the registration came through and the registrant paid. Logging into the website, it shows it is clearly expired, and even on the front end, it shows up as expired. How did this registration get through, and how can I prevent others from getting through?

Hi, what is the name of the ticket option that was registered for?

Also, what are you using for your timezone settings in WP-admin –> Settings –> General?

WP admin settings are set to New York/ Eastern (we are in Florida)
The event expired Saturday night, the registration made this afternoon, for event ticket “Holiday Sale Student/Senior Registration”
