Registration pending

How do I turn off the registration pending option? I would like for a person to only be registered IF they make a payment. The pending registration option is confusing. Is this possible?

Hello,

Event Espresso needs to store some information about a registrant/attendee before a payment can be associated.

I can confirm that a registrant/attendee is only counted for your event is there registration status is approved. This can happen in a few ways:

1) If the event is paid, then this happens after they enter their registration details and pay during registration checkout.

2) If the event is free, then this happens after they enter their registration details.

Additionally, Event Espresso 4 (http://cl.ly/3s452p3L1c3x) offers the option to override a payment status through the registration details screen so an event organizer could easily set a pending payment to approved if they are allowing a complementary registration or for another reason.

This make sense yet, what email does the “pending registrant” receive to know that he/she should complete registration.

Hi there,

Which version of Event Espresso? EE4?

With EE4 the user will be sent a ‘Registration Pending Payment’ message.

To step through the registration process…

The user selects their tickets and clicks to proceed.

Event Espresso requests the registration details for the registrant(s) depending on your settings.

Then then proceed to the Payment options step.

Here they are offered your payment options and depending on which payment methods you have enabled this will determine how the registration is handled.

If you have an offline payment method such as Invoice or Cheque enabled, they can select that option and the registration is set to pending payment. The user then receives a registration pending payment email which also include a link back to the payment options should they chose to pay using an online payment method (such as Stripe)

If the user uses an online payment method and makes a payment their registration will be Approved and they are sent the ‘Registration Approved’ message type.

Only registrations with a status of ‘Approved’ apply to your events, by default registrations are only set to Approved when full payment is made using an online gateway (or you alter the status manually within the Admin)
