Registration page does not redirect to payment page

Hi,
I was trying this in Sandbox mode, as well as non-sandbox mode and have the same problem. After entering all the contact info for a customer and clicking “register”, I get directed back to the main registration page instead of the payment page. I just added HTTPS plugin to make the registration and associated pages secure, but now I can’t get to the payment page. I deactivated the HTTPS plugin and tried to register again, and it took me to a payment page, although it declines all payments, I’m assuming because the page is not secure. How can I have my pages set to https and not have it mess up the registration?

Thanks.

Hi there,

An https plugin alone will not make a page secure. You’ll need to install an SSL certificate for the domain in order to make a page load as Https. Most hosts will install SSL certificates as a service, so I’d recommend contacting them first, or check with an SSL certificate provider.

Yes, I have my SSL Certificate from godaddy. I called them today and they said that I need to recode each page to be https, but they did not know how to do that. So I’ve been looking in the forums all morning, and found one that recommended the HTTPS plugin, and to select Secure Page for the specific pages that I need to be secured. I did that for my Registration, Thank You, Cancelled, and Transaction pages. The registration page shows as secure with the plugin, but it will no longer take me to a registration confirmation and then payment page.

You shouldn’t need to recode each page to be https. Actually, the WP https plugin will take care of that for you.

In this case though, it looks like the SSL certificate is shared with another domain. Is it thenowclock.com?

If so, it really needs to be a private (non-shared) certificate.

One other thing to check with GoDaddy: When you type in:

https://wealthfromthesource.com

it’s redirecting to:

http://wealthfromthesource.com/

It should not be redirecting to http.

Ok, wealthfromthesource.com is a subdomanin of thenowclock.com, the person at GoDaddy said that it would be tricky to swap them to make weathfromthesource.com the main domain. Is the redirecting thing something that can be changed in wordpress? I noticed a redirecting option when editing one of my pages, and tried entering the https url, but then got the warning message that the page was on a redirecting loop or something like that, so I deleted the redirection https URL that I had added. The redirecting thing is a GoDaddy issue?

Even when I get the redirection thing fixed, I am still concerned that when the HTTPS plugin is activated and the appropriate pages are secured, the registration page where all the personal info (not payment info) is entered, after clicking submit, just takes me back to the main registration page. The Return URL is set to Thank You page.

It sounds like the redirection problem is being caused by the theme or another plugin. You might want to try deactivating all plugins except for EE and WordPress HTTPS, and switching to the default WordPress twentytwelve theme. You should be able to type in https://wealthfromthesource.com and have it stay on the https and not redirect to http.
The problem you are having with the registration is because the form is being submitted to http and not https. The http page is being redirected to https, but it is losing the POST data in the process. The form should be submitted directly to https, but something is interfering with the WordPress get_permalink function that sets the form submission URL, probably another plugin or the theme.

Ok, I deactivated each plugin and then tried to register each time, and finally when I switched back to the twenty twelve theme, after deactivating Headway, I was able to get to the confirmation page after the client puts their info in. I selected Sandbox mode in EE Payments Settings under Pay Pal Pro, entered the fake cc info, and received this message agian:
Attention: Your transaction was declined for the following reason(s):
Error Code: 10002
Short Message: Security error
Short Message: Security header is not valid
Severity Code: Error

The URL bar says https://wealthfromthesource.com/?page_id=854&r_id=1-513f5dd170d6b

The 10002 security error indicates that the API credentials are incorrect.

In this case, when you switch to sandbox mode, you will also need to change the API credentials to use PayPal Pro Sandox credentials. Live PayPal Pro account credentials will not work in sandbox mode.

I am also having issues… before I upgraded to the business license event espresso was working great. Now…ANYONE can register and its up to me to have to follow up about payment. How can I set it up to before when if people paid they received the confirmation email. Instead of an email asking for them to pay?

http://www.newyorkbroadwaytours.com

Thanks.
Sincerely,
Amada

@aanderson – in your General Settings is an option “Send registration confirmation emails before payment is received?” Set it to no. Also the Default Payment Status in the General settings and in the events needs to be set at Incomplete/No change respectively. If it is set to complete then the confirmation email will go out.

DUH. For some reason when I upgraded to business I assumed that all my general settings stayed the same and I didn’t know the difference between incomplete or no change. Thanks so much! Everything is up and running. YAY! Now if only I can figure out how to change the template file that says print the ticket (don’t want them to do that) and get my android phone to quit crashing when it tries to open on my android phone the ticketing app….

Thank you!
